ENGINEER / SENIOR CONSULTANT
FEDERICO BRUNNER

Federico is an engineer with more than 40 years of experience, both in Industry and in the Mining Academy. He has served as a consultant for numerous national and international companies, leading research areas associated with rock mechanics applied to mining design (underground and open pit), underground mining systems (selection and planning of mining systems), unconventional blasting ( with plasma application), among others. Federico served as Associate Professor of the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of La Serena (ULS) between 1989 and 2017, teaching the chairs of Rock Mechanics, Underground Mining, Rocky Slope Design, Analysis and Support Design, in addition to hold the position of Coordinator and Professor of the Diploma in Mining Geomechanics and Master of Engineering Sciences (Geomecánica Minera) developed jointly between the University of La Serena and the Technological University of Curtin (through WASM), between 2006 and 2016.
Federico has published more than 35 articles in magazines, conferences and symposiums of his specialty, to which he adds numerous unpublished reports related to his research work. He has also authored a significant number of manuals and books associated with geomechanical applications, active support systems ("rock bolting"), theoretical foundations for mining operations, rock slope engineering, geotechnics and fortification, among others.
Federico is a member of the Chilean Institute of Mining Engineers and the American Society of Mining Engineers (SME).

GEOMECHANICAL ENGINEER / LABORATORY HEAD
FABIÁN LAGOS
Civil Mining Engineer from the University of La Serena, with 7 years of experience in geomechanical stability analysis of open pit mines, dumps and underground excavations. Professional responsible for the geomechanical testing area of the Laboratory of the company FF GeoMechanics. He has professional certification as an Internal Auditor according to the NCH ISO 17.025-2005 Standard, in Testing and Calibration Laboratories. Don Fabián Lagos has a post-graduate Diploma in Geomechanics Applied to Mining Design, from the University of Chile.

Geologist from the University of Concepcion with more than 8 years of experience mainly on geotechnical engineering, rock mass characterization and modelling performed on important consultant companies such as SRK Consulting, Derk, Mecanica de Rocas, Groundprobe, among others.

JAIME CARMONA
Survey Engineer with more than 40 years of experience with full dedication to Geotechnical and Geomechanical Ground Control Engineering both on open pit and underground operations. He has been an active consultant and trainer for diverse mining companies in Chile and Peru with emphasis on Ground Control and Geomechanical Risk Assessments. Some of his work has been developed for Antofagasta Minerals, Minera Escondida, Minera Candelaria, among others.

BERNARDO VICENCIO

Construction Engineer from the University Catolica de Valparaiso with more than 40 years of experience on civil and construction projects both in Chile and overseas. Bernardo is an expert on ground support systems based on shotcrete. He is an active member of the Chilean Shotcrete Committee (ICH), qualified consultant and trainer for certified shotcrete operator. Bernardo has been an editor and author of the Chilean Shotcrete Guideline, plus numerous international publications on this matter.

Civil Mining Engineer from the University of La Serena, with 4 years of experience in planning, design and reporting of mining projects. Experience in geomechanical analysis of pits and dumps. He has professional certification as an Internal Auditor according to the ISO 17.025-2005 Standard, in Testing and Calibration Laboratories.

Professional Construction Engineer from the University of Aconcagua, with more than 10 years of experience in the design, projection and construction of civil and mining works, such as in the Delirio Mining Project, Puquios, Berta, etc.

HUMBERTO UGARTE
Civil Mining Engineer from the University of Santiago (Chile), with 5 years of experience in planning, design of open pit and underground mines. Experience in the use and application of specialized software.
GEOLOGY TECHNICIAN
MIRIAM LARENAS

Geology and Geotechnical Technician from DUOC UC Professional Institute (Chile), that develops activities related to sampling, classification, control and preparation of rock specimens for testing purposes at the Rock Mechanics Laboratory. In addition, she performs rock characterization and mapping of samples prior to testing.

WILSON ROMERO
Technician with experience in industrial administration and computer science, who has worked in the company Metso Mineral, and currently performs functions as an Engineering technician by supporting the activities of the Rock Mechanics Laboratory.
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
RUBÉN SAAVEDRA

Laboratory technician responsible for the preparation of rock mechanics samples with more than 25 years of experience on this area. He has been working for FF GeoMechanics since 2012.
